i'm attempting a note in their lunch box every day
5 days down, only 180ish more to go

I love scrapbooking
it's such a fun hobby
so grateful for the Saturdays I get to crop with the girls
all day long :)

we were invited to see our friends daughter be baptized after church last Sunday
at the parsonage pool
this was the first baptism our boys have witnessed
other than the sprinkling they do at the alter for a new baby occasionally
what an awesome day
so thankful to be a part of it

blueberry pancakes
made by adam
early sunday morning before church

we found a great new pediatric dentist

the boys are going to be acolytes at our church
this sunday cooper will make his debut
so precious!
they look so small in those robes

happy long weekend to all

A few weeks back we were blessed with a visit from the boys godfather.
All the guys were excited to show off the 9 hole disc golf course in our back yard :)

In the yard

view from the house out to the backyard

grateful for the green grass this summer

this lantana is growing wild all around us

the terrain is very rocky

there is a border of rocks around the property line
it takes a long time to weed eat around all the rocks

last weekend the boys earned some money picking up rocks out of the yard
they were paid by the pound
it was hard work
out in the summer heat

we still have a few stickers in the yard
corbin got this one off my shoe for me :)
he's so helpful
and a hard worker

Camp Peniel {Day Camp 2013}

the boys went to day camp for two different weeks at Camp Peniel
you can read more about the camp here

it was great!

we plan to send them next summer for their first overnight camp
and then one week of day camp in July
they have promised some of their favorite chiefs they will see them again next year :)

the young adult chief and maidens (counselors) were great with the boys
we had chief luke the first week, and chief mikey the 2nd week
cooper was really close to chief brandon as well

all the counselors were from young life
a super great christian group of young adults passionate about teaching children more about God
the boys learned about sin
they will tell you "it is anything you think, say, do or don't do that is displeasing to God"!
amen to that

they gained a new perspective and desire to not sin
pretty amazing stuff to witness
our babies are experiencing God away from church, Sunday School, or with us
i'll never know what all they were told
but i know it was positive about loving Jesus and others
and had a POSITIVE affect on the boys hearts for sure!

the boys went
horseback riding
visited a
petting zoo
shot bb guns
shot bow and arrow
went fishing
went swimming EVERYDAY
played many games
sing
learn bible verses
compete
hear bible stories
 canoe
kayak
scavenger hunt

it's a perfect time for two little boys

their FAVORITE end of the day activity was GAGA ball
they played in this ring
with something that resembles a ball
i'm not sure all the rules
but i got that you did not want to be touched by the ball or you were out

the spark has certainly been lit in them
many nights since they are reading the bible in bed on their own
one week at camp they learned about a lot of BAD kings
one night cooper told me he learned a story about a father punishing with whips and scorpions
1 Kings 12:11
oh my!

I was so happy to hear him read me the bible :)

they hung out under this pavilion during parts of the day

cubby holes to hold lunch, towel and water bottle

the boys also learned some great songs at church camp
that we have heard more than we ever care to hear again
just kidding

i love listening to them sing
they are both good at it

i've been redeemed, I've been redeemed by the blood of the lamb
my sins are washed away, oh praise the lord, praise the lord

oh you can't get to heaven
in a motor car
oh you can't get to heaven
in a motor car

one song they sing about the fruits of the spirit
got us reading galatians 5:22 and memorizing the fruits together
it's good times
i don't want to forget

the boots and swim trunks kill me
i could NOT win the battle
so i just let it be :)

until next year...

Happy August

hello august
I can't believe it's already here.
but since it is I'll try to be happy about it :)

the texas sage is blooming
and the bees are swarming
 i love the purple blooms!

this month we get to celebrate our anniversary
back to school happens in 3 short weeks
and football starts back up for my referee husband

i'm taking full advantage of OLD NAVY's $10 jeans sale
the boys have grown so much this summer
and only have 1 pair of jeans left between the two of them
it's a good time to stock up!
and i remember their sizes run big on my boys so probably ordering size 7's
2 skinny for cooper, 2 regular fit for corbin
it was 104 today
but it won't stay this hot forever
hopefully in 2 months we will have some fall temps

these cowboys are finished with church camp for the year
boo hoo
they loved it so much
(more about that in a post all it's own)

they cracked me up
and a few other mothers mentioned
how comfy they were wearing swim trunks and boots every day
too funny
i say it's good enough for camp
probably not so for school or church

cooper p has been exceptional with his new glasses this summer
they are the perfect fit
he's taken such good care of them
and worn them about 99% of the day
yay!!

i'm excited for back to school for this kid
he's blossomed
he's awesome

it's true
she gets a lot of lovin'
she's just so soft and curly and huggable
and loves to be in our face
this month we have to make some tough decisions about keeping this girl
love her
can't stand the thought of her possibly running off again
she got her first REAL shock this morning
i'm praying we see a change in her desire to RUN after every deer, bunny, bird she sees
bless her heart
it's just her nature

these are the little cuties who gave pig pig a new home
they LOVE him!
we are so glad
we miss him. he was a sweet pet.

hello august!
