Happy August

hello august

I can't believe it's already here.

but since it is I'll try to be happy about it :)

the texas sage is blooming
and the bees are swarming
 i love the purple blooms!

this month we get to celebrate our anniversary

back to school happens in 3 short weeks

and football starts back up for my referee husband

i'm taking full advantage of OLD NAVY's $10 jeans sale
the boys have grown so much this summer
and only have 1 pair of jeans left between the two of them
it's a good time to stock up!
and i remember their sizes run big on my boys so probably ordering size 7's
2 skinny for cooper, 2 regular fit for corbin
it was 104 today
but it won't stay this hot forever
hopefully in 2 months we will have some fall temps

these cowboys are finished with church camp for the year
boo hoo
they loved it so much
(more about that in a post all it's own)

they cracked me up
and a few other mothers mentioned
how comfy they were wearing swim trunks and boots every day
too funny
i say it's good enough for camp
probably not so for school or church

cooper p has been exceptional with his new glasses this summer
they are the perfect fit
he's taken such good care of them
and worn them about 99% of the day
yay!!

i'm excited for back to school for this kid
he's blossomed 
he's awesome

it's true
she gets a lot of lovin' 
she's just so soft and curly and huggable
and loves to be in our face
this month we have to make some tough decisions about keeping this girl
love her
can't stand the thought of her possibly running off again
she got her first REAL shock this morning
i'm praying we see a change in her desire to RUN after every deer, bunny, bird she sees
bless her heart
it's just her nature

these are the little cuties who gave pig pig a new home
they LOVE him!
we are so glad
we miss him. he was a sweet pet.

around here

 

these two monkeys

are having a great summer

 

 

of course they are eating lots

playing in the dirt and catching bugs all the time

their current fascination is little frogs they catch while out on the lake at camp

and bring home

oh lovely

 

we've been super happy with the weeks they've been to camp peniel

the drive is killing our gas budget

but no doubt their time there is spent learning more about God

it is apparent they are loved and cared for well

and kept super busy exploring, riding, swimming, playing, singing

a perfect day for these guys

 

they made me take pictures too

I know I look thrilled!

my oh my these boys are getting so tall

definitely lots of growing going on around here

 

 

 

they LOVE their yearbooks from school

and hanging out on the dog beds :)

when they get home from camp there is lots of just hanging out going on around here

 

mocha and coach ran off last Saturday morning

for an early morning deer chasing adventure

 

thankfully it ends well

but we totally spent our entire weekend looking for them

 

 Coach came home Saturday afternoon

and then our search was for just her

we made flyers

posted them all over, handed them out

talked to everyone we could in the neighborhood

posted her picture on facebook

lost dogs of texas website

faxed a flyer to all the area vet offices

called animal control in two counties

put an ad in the Austin newspaper

we were desperate to find her

 

by Monday evening we finally gave up looking in our neighborhood 

we felt confident she was NOT in Briarcliff

the breeders were certain she had been picked up/stolen

we kept feeling like it just couldn't be so that someone who found her with her collar and tags would not call us

who steals someones dog?

 

thankfully no one stole this sweet girl

she was found Tuesday afternoon at 3pm walking down the middle of the road

out in the country

about 6 miles away from our house

 

I've spoken to the two ladies who simultaneously stopped for her on the road again this morning

and they knew she was special

and needed to find her home

and praise god would not let her away without calling the number on her tag

 

 

 

 

we can't stop thanking Jesus

she was found

alive and well

other than being REALLY thirsty

her paws are raw in a few places

but she is just fine

so proud of her for being such a survivor

we are happy!

 

beautiful precious RAIN

we've been blessed with lots of rain this year

lots for a Texas summer, that is

it's needed so much

we are in a bad drought

 

 

I think this day we got about 5 inches in 20 minutes

 

 

the back yard is a lake

 

we got so much rain so fast it had no time to soak in

little ponds like this were standing all around the house

 

 

this much rain mid July is un heard of

the front flower beds were filled to the tip top

 

 

after the rain stopped the deer started moving across our yard

 

mocha saw them right away

 

she whined

and barked

and danced around

 

no doubt if we let her out she would chase them

 

she just wants to sniff and say hi :)

 

hello SUMMER

truly my fave

 this time of year

the long day of sunshine

relaxed schedule with the kids
i love it

change of pace

it's good

and the living is easy

our summer has started off pretty exciting

a good friend turned 40

we celebrated BIG with a hula theme party

such a blast!

catered food

music

good friends

then a few days later mocha doodle had her
PUPPIES 

 on june 4th

13 of them
she is amazing

WOW!

for now she lives with the breeder in dripping
and is busy until mid july feeding

and being mommy to them

we miss her like crazy around the house

he's been enjoying ALL the attention again
he truly doesn't seem the least bit sad
silly ol' dog

boys started swimming lessons three nights a week
and i still think they need one more session
 they need more practice in the pooooool!!!

last day of school was june 5th

they had adorable matching shirts for twin day
with 8 of their closest buddies

one of the boys said
it's not quadruplet day
just twin day

haha

and that evening we had a FUN

outdoor movie party with a few friends

we introduced the kids to THE GOONIES movie

good times

quilts, lawn chairs, 

dogs and burgers, adult beverages, bug spray

cool summer night breeze

it was the perfect ending to a great school year

now we are enjoying a few weeks of spanish camp at school

and an extended visit with uncle ronnie here

who lets the boys play on his phone sometimes

he's a good uncle

it's been a great start to summer around here

we are blessed

and busy

excited for the next chapter

as we currently prepare to move an hour north

weeeeeeeee

moving boxes are fun ;-)

i still love documenting little life moments that make up our days together
i've heard lots of reminders this week from momma's who are out of the littles phase to cherish these "little guys" while we can. enjoy the games we get to play together, tucking them in at bedtime, even if it's 2-3 times, family dinners together every night, field trips and school programs.
one day it will be gone :( and that day will come too fast i'm sure 

a little Star Wars Guess Who with the boys before bed is always fun

typically i dread being asked to play a game at 7:30pm on a school night

but this one is really fun, so i don't mind playing 2-3 rounds

i was so proud of the boys for writing thank you cards for birthday gifts only a week after their birthday - and as i struggled to read what they wrote i decided to do the family a favor and translate on the empty space.

he's 7 going 15

loves having his own room

is a total neatner like his momma

and is really digging his new disco ball light

and guiness book he picked out on amazon

Oh Mocha!

 is having babies

she just turned two on May 6th

cooper and i got to take her for the first ultrasound two weeks ago

she was 4 weeks along
barely showing, in my opinion

we didn't stop and count each one, but saw sack after sack with little doggie inside

vet said she's definitely pregnant

we take her for an x-ray and puppy count in a few days

she had 12 her last litter
which was her first litter

yowza!!

her due date is June 5th 

the last day of school

(ha... that was my original due date with the boys as well)

we will hand her off to the Main's probably around the 3rd or 4th

they care for her and the puppies
then at 4 weeks we can visit her/them
and at 5 she can come home

we will miss her so much
poor coach will be so lonely

can't wait to see all her pups

just 3 more weeks

corbin says there will be boys and girls to choose from :)
