InstaFriday

life rearranged
linking up with life rearranged
happy insta-friday friends!

we went to the big game saturday
me and my sister
it was such a thrill
we are so lucky to live where we can attend
a game with 100,000+ others
exciting... to say the least!

i've been lucky enough to attend some great college football games in my life
even though i did not attend a big 12 school
nor did anyone in my family
but nonetheless we love college football
and seeing it in person is awesome!

this was the best game and experience i've had
i love the longhorns!
so much gratitude for our friends who gave us the tickets
and kept the boy's all day and night while we played fans!
blessed beyond what we deserve

tammy is definitely NOT a texas fan
but still loves a good football game
and she wanted to cheer for the home team ;)
thanks sister!
and thanks for making the trip to go with me

we got to tailgate with friends from church and their big family
and the bonus of it all
 adam was on the field
working the chains
a member of the officiating crew

and i used my binoculars to keep an eye on him
he was perfectly placed directly across the field
on the visitor side
in a big 12 vest and white hat

we caught this shot on TV while watching the recording
so happy jadam is living the dream
and one step closer to being in stripes on the Big 12 field
way to go bb!!

tam and i were living the dream saturday
besides going to the game
we had buy one get one free starbucks
and heavenly pedicures

texas lost to west virginia
boo hoo
but we still had the best time
and can't wait to go again!!

Crock-tober {a recipe}

I love to cook in my crock pot.
isn't it great to throw dinner in at 7 am and not worry about it until dinner time?
i use mine for slow cooking meat.
roast or pulled pork, chicken breast
taco soup, vegetable beef stew, chili.

my new favorite is seasoned pork butt
found this one at walmart

opened the package with scissors
placed it in the crock pot, put the lid on
and cooked it on high for 6-7 hours
in my handy dandy crock pot
easy as that!
didn't add a thing.

turned it once after 4 hours
when it was done took it out onto a platter
and shredded it with two forks
threw together some sweet and tangy cool cole slaw

3/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dry mustard
2 TBS white vinegar
stir until well mixed
then add in 1 pkg of precut slaw
chill for an hour

warmed up some small flour tortillas
and made
pulled pork and slaw tacos

easy and inexpensive meal
takes about 5-10 minutes to prepare

winner!!

try it and let me know what you think.
happy crocktober!

InstaFRIDAY

linking up my instagram phone pics again this week with jeanette at life rearranged.
i'm aacurtis on instagram!

life rearranged

super stoked about this weekend
my sister is coming to town tonight
we are going to the big game tomorrow
adam will be on the field working the chains... yipppeeee
 Hook 'Em Horns!!
the boy's ride to school with me just making the block around them in the car
to make sure they stop at the stop sign
 it's 2 blocks away
 in the neighborhood
they have some good friends on the street to ride with as well
but i'm not ready to let them go alone

have to remember to get this little PIG some food today
isn't he cute?
time to clip those nails too. GEEZ!

adam had a game this week 2 miles from our house
that never happens
so me and the boys went to the game
hometown football in texas!
too bad the home team lost.
but we always like seeing him in stripes on the field

it's been a year now
since he got shot
it's all still so hard to imagine
we will never stop thanking God for sparing Ronnie and keeping him here
he is a blessing and inspiration to us all
a living breathing miracle

blessings to all!

karate

the boys started karate a month ago
i love their unform... i think it's called their karate gi.

this week they learned to spar

oh these two certainly know how to "spar"
now to learn how to do it karate style :)

i had to laugh at the huge smile on Corbin's face the whole time
these boys are born to wrestle and fight

look at cooper's kick... on his tippy toes
whoa!!! he's got skills!
there are lots of rules
and they have to listen and practice a lot
one wrong "hit"in the wrong area means disqualified in a tournament

i think cooper got a little aggressive with noah
he had to take a knee while the referee made sure noah was alright

cooper clocked him in the neck
after noah popped cooper in the nose
oh my!
karate encourages good posture, self control, good listening skills
coach makes them do push ups if they don't make their beds on karate day
 i like it a lot!!
and so far the boy's do too

i want to remember

i want to remember... what a great weekend it was.
saturday was rainy and relaxing. i went for coffee with a friend, then on to a scrapbook crop until late that night. sunday we over slept but still made it to church early. 8:05 am! better than ON TIME :-) adam ushered and we both served communion together. wow... what a great experience. i'm so thankful my husband pulls me out of my comfort zone sometimes. i loved it! what a holy "close to Christ" moment. jesus' blood shed for you, jesus' blood shed for you.
i don't have a picture of us, but we looked pretty awesome in our coordinated outfits as well. red is our color babe!

i want to remember... how fun it was to watch Corbin play soccer this spring. i hope he wants to play again next year. i got his pictures scrapbooked.

i want to remember... that through what feels like a real challenge in parenting i've come to rely on Him more and trust Him to guide us through the ups and downs. He hears our prayers. we've gotten creative. it seems to be a good thing. God is on our side.
 thank goodness!!
what doesn't kill us makes us STRONGER :)

i want to remember... how fun and chill the boy's were at an after school swim playdate with the conway's and clark's last week. they are so big acting sometimes. and fun to watch.
i love being mom to such great little guys. god is good.

i want to remember... just how blessed we are to have so many great neighbor friends. never any shortage of someone to play with. legos, beyblades, bike riding. these really are the best of days for these little guys. one day they will all be men with jobs and families to support, and little time to hang in the driveway playing with legos for hours and hours together. :)
i want to remember... how beautiful the sunset was on my way to ladies reunion group last night. i had another couple hours away to fellowship with my sunday school friends. a break from parenthood. it was nice. better than nice, it was GREAT.

i want to remember... to never stop asking God to show me my passions!
